Obtaining Medicine

Initial Retail Pharmacy Fill

This service is available if you have for been enrolled by an Advocate so that you can have immediate access to your GSK medicine.

What should I bring to the pharmacy?

  • Bridges to Access retail pharmacy processing information, provided by your Advocate upon completion of successful enrollment phone call. (also provided in the blue box on the right)
  • Prescription for up to a 30 day supply of medicine, if appropriate.

NOTE: Some medicines for short term use (such as antibiotics) are only available at a retail pharmacy and are not distributed through mail order.

Receiving Medication by Mail

  • If you have enrolled on your own, the first 90-day supply of your GlaxoSmithKline medicine(s) will automatically be shipped to the address provided on your application. (Some drugs are only available at a retail pharmacy. You will be notified if your prescription is only available at a retail pharmacy.)

How to Order Refills

  • Refills are sent at no cost for up to 12 months after your enrollment in Bridges to Access.
  • Patients requiring prescription assistance past the initial 30-day period of the phone enrollment will receive refills for medicines through mail order when requested. Some medicines are only available at the pharmacy.
  • Refills can be ordered here or by calling 1-866-PATIENT (1-866-728-4368). Each refill must be requested at least 3 weeks before the patient's existing supply of medicine is completed.
  • The prescription number is required each time a refill is requested. The prescription number can be found on the packing slip that comes with each shipment.

Renewing a Prescription

  • A physician’s office may fax the prescription to 1-855-474-3063.
  • Faxed prescriptions are only valid if faxed directly from a physician’s office.
  • Applicant’s name and date of birth must be on each faxed page.
